SOFTWARE MAY BE EATING THE WORLD
BUT WE BLOGGERS ARE DOING A LOT OF MUNCHING TOO.
- WORDPRESS. 100,000 new blogs are created daily
- WORDPRESS. It already has 65 million
- TUMBLR has 102 million
- LIVEJOURNAL has 63 million
- WEEBLY has 12 million
You would think all that competition would depress me. It actually doesn't. It might if I was trying to make a living off the blog, as such, but I’m not. What I am trying to do is communicate with my readers and whoever else happens to be interested. And, to my great surprise, I enjoy blogging. I love it. Why not, indeed. It is writing—and what sane person, once he (or she) learned how enjoyable writing is—would want to do anything else.
I’m quite surprised that only 100,000 Wordpress blogs are created daily. After all, there are roughly 320 million of us in the U.S. alone—though I guess babies don’t blog—yet.
There will probably be an App for that soon..
