ALL LIVING LANGUAGES EVOLVE—BUT SHOULD “TECHSPEAK” BE OUR FUTURE?
Though I am a great believer in the concept that a language must evolve, I confess the following makes me very uneasy.
One of the reasons why writing skills are so important is that they aid our cognitive abilities immensely. Good writing is just not possible without clear thinking.
But does good writing mean that one has to do things in a traditional way—or is Techspeak a valid alternative?
Let me shudder a bit—and then admit that I really don’t know; and that perhaps I don’t want to know. I have great affection for the English language, and feel I’m witnessing murder.
