NOW YOU SEE IT—NOW YOU DON’T
Talk about British ‘stiff upper-lips.’ and ‘sang-froid!’
Most Americans seem to be taking the destruction of their class and modest wealth in their stride. There are no marches on Washington DC, rioting in the street, blocking of roads—or indeed any signs at all that a couple of hundred million people are having their economic throats cut (rather slowly, but inexorably) and are quietly bleeding to death.
And here we are afraid of ISIS. The real enemy is much closer at hand.
Could the situation be turned around? Sure—but not unless people wake up and realize just how fast things are deteriorating. And there are no real signs of that.
I can but shake my head in wonder. Are we The Working Dead already (though all too many of us—over 90 million—aren’t working)?
It would appear so.
