July 15 2015. Corporations? A case of too much of a good thing. Having mastered the art of conditioning us commercially, they have now seized the political high ground. They finance and dominate Congress. Their owners are our real masters.

LIFE IS A LARGELY ONE-SIDED PROPAGANDA WAR OF EXTRAORDINARILY SAVAGE INTENSITY

AND CORPORATE POWER IS WINNING

Corporate propaganda is so intense, pervasive, and egregious that—paradoxically—we mostly don’t notice it. We would only become aware of it, if it ceased.

Image the silence! I doubt any of us can. Corporate propaganda is a cradle-to-the-grave service. As a consequence, we are as about as thoroughly conditioned as is possible.

Being conditioned means we are trained to accept a great deal as normal, reasonable, and right—pretty much without thought—whereas we might react entirely differently if we hadn’t been conditioned and had to think things through ourselves.

Conditioning doesn’t just mean acceptance. In many cases, it means we act in accordance with the wishes of those who condition us. In particular, we buy things, and otherwise spend money, as our conditioners wish—which is serious enough in itself—but it also means we vote without thought, make war without consideration of the consequences, trust the wrong people, lose faith in perfectly good institutions—and generally behave in a controlled manner while deluding ourselves that we are rugged individuals who think for ourselves.

Would we make better decisions if we really did think for ourselves?

I don’t know the answer to that—but I would truly like to find out.

I’m rather attached to that phrase, We The People. It reflects a noble aspiration—sadly betrayed by the reality.

We The Manipulated doesn’t have the same ring. However, it is superior in one fundamental way.

It is the truth.
